Frequently Asked Questions

1Q: Can anyone be hypnotized?
Anyone can be hypnotized if they allow themselves to be - with a few exceptions. People with some mental disorder and those with a severely low IQ cannot be hypnotized. Also if people choose not to be hypnotized then they cannot be hypnotised. Hypnosis is a very natural state of being. No one can make you go into hypnosis. The beautiful thing about the hypnotic state is that it is a state that you allow yourself to be taken to. It is deeply relaxing and, as such, studies indicate that it is very good for your health.
2Q: What does it feel like to be hypnotised? Will I lose control?
Hypnosis is simply a very relaxed state in which the client can become truly focused. Hypnosis is also called a “trans-state.” You are not asleep even though we use the term “sleep.” In this state the conscious mind slows down but the subconscious mind is activated. Changes can then be made and the subconscious mind reprogrammed so that deep beliefs and behaviours are altered or abolished. Hypnosis is not mind control and no one can make you do – or accept -anything in hypnosis that goes against your fundamental value systems. Hypnosis is a natural and powerful way to strengthen one of the most important relationships in your life – the relationship with your subconscious mind, the greater part of you, in order to enjoy living more of the life that you really want to lead. In fact, when your own subconscious mind becomes your ally, wonderful things can happen naturally!
3Q: How does hypnosis work?
While in a very relaxed state the subconscious mind is directly accessed. The subconscious mind is that powerful part of the mind that remembers everything, that is the store house of our beliefs and behaviours as well as our habitual responses. When the subconscious mind is accessed in a safe natural way through hypnosis it is possible to heal our relationship to the past or to change old habits and beliefs. Hypnotherapy is now acknowledged as being one of the most direct, gentle and non-invasive methods for making rapid, effective, lasting change.
4Q. Why is it that I can still hear all the sounds around me including your voice?
In hypnosis you are not in some strange “other world” kind of place. You hear me clearly but you are in a very physically and mentally relaxed hypnotic trans – state. Probably the most relaxed you will ever be! In this state your subconscious mind will absorb and retain all the relevant information.
5A personal note from me about hypnosis…
You will really enjoy the relaxing and motivating session, and with this system you can finally change the way you feel and think about issues that have been holding you back from living life to the fullest, resulting in a new attitude towards life and happiness! Yours In Health
